Tramp the puppy

I found this puppy in the parking lot of work in SA. He is adorable!  He was so friendly and so little I didn't even hear him come up to me.  I was so scared he would be ran over since he is so small and couldn't be seen so I scooped him up and took him to Petsmart knowing they couldn't do anything to help me other than calm the pound. 😢 I wanted to see if they knew of a rescue that would take him and they have me a flyer to SA Animal Rescue. I called them and she immediately answered and said she would take him. I drove out to who knows where (far south) and dropped off the little guy. I felt HORRIBLE leaving him here. I felt like I've felt before dropping of my foster kids at shelters or RTC's! This place just didn't sit well with me and it was not up to my standards. They were nice and excited to have him and said he would be adopted pretty quickly because he is so cute. That made me feel a little better but still, the grounds weren't very well kept.  They were also going to have him neutered the following day so that is a plus too. Either way, I worried about him the entire day and cried that I had to leave him where I wasn't comfortable. He was so scared of all the other animals that he was shaking and even growled at Mr. Sheep when he approached. Lol

I miss these guys

Staying with Lucien and Kelsey has me pretty attached to these little cuties.

Getting her hair combed double time. She was not happy!  But look at that adorable little face! Lol

Bugsy and Pebbles are sooo sweet and sooo patient. :) We were playing fetch here.  Pebbles usually wins and comes back other the ball. Lol. 😝

It's the little things...again :)

This photo explains it all lol but to be fair, we were nervous about how their digestive system was handling not being allowed to do their business when nature called since they have been in the hotel for 6 weeks at this point.

House Hunting in Austin

So now that we have made the decision to move, we are now house hunting in the Austin area. The weekend of April 14th was probably our third weekend house hunting. Our realtor, Wendy, has shown us properties in south, central, east, and north Austin, Round Rock, and Pflugerville.

Wendy was aware that our budget shouldn't  exceed a certain amount but said she HAD to show this house on the lake. Sam and I thought "what lake?!". The only lake we knew of was Lake Travis and we both knew we couldn't afford that, didn't want to afford that, and didn't want to be that far. Then she brings us to Lake Pflugerville. We get down with the pups and walk around and think "wow, a house here would be perfect for the pups and so convenient for us!"  Below is a photo of our first time on the lake.

Bad lens sorry. :)

Much better :)

So she brings us to the house and this is the vomit of horrific colors we walk in to lol. Peachy huh? ;)

Every single wall in this house was painted!! And I haven't posted the photos of the baby pink room with a blue sky.

But then....

We walk to the back yard and this would be the view from the back porch if we bought this house! Relaxing! Oh and it was sooo fresh even if it was 80 degrees outside.  This view is totally worth the work and money it would be to re paint the entire house right?!

We walk out and I'm not too excited because I think surely a house that backs up to this lake (that also had a small beach and park and pavilion) is probably already under contract just like the other few houses we saw that we liked. Wendy calls the realtor and be says "no contract but waiting for one to come in tonight". Sam and I continue on our way with the rest of the house hinting and take some time to think about it. We are hesitant because it is over our budget. We drive back to SA and call Wendy and say "make the offer!"  It turns out that other offer that was coming in still hasn't and ours was the only offer. The sellers accept our offer as is the next day; sans negotiating! We're in!!

Jake the clown

Sam and the pups are living it up in a hotel in Austin until we can close on the new house. He sent me some text message explaining Jake yesterday during their walk. They haven't had a yard for almost 2 months. They went from full access to the outdoors via a doggy door to a hotel over night! They have been such troopers!! Use the next photo to paint a picture in your mind of our beloved Jakey.

No More Bridlewood

So a week before we were to close on 13900 Wenrich, Sam finds out there is a chance he may be laid off from TRANE! Our closing date on the new house is supposed to be March 1st so we ask them to give us a few more weeks until we can figure out what will happen with Sam's job.

During the second week of March, Sam is indeed laid off. We could technically still close on the house but I just do not feel "right" doing that. We had enough money saved up and Sam had other options available to him (job wise) that he could take and that would allow us to close on the new house but we decide one Sunday night that we are going to pass on the new house and move to Austin! I didn't think we would ever have an opportunity to move back to ATX so we jumped in this one quickly.

Sam had a job offer in New Braunfels which would have been 15-20 miles from the new house. It was a little sad since we had picked out everything we wanted and how we wanted it and spend money on upgrades etc and when it was finally done and ready to close, we don't. We even had a vacuum in the walls (built in) where all we had to do is open the conveniently placed slit in the wall and sweep all of Jake and Mia's hair and it would swoop it up. So convenient!

Moving to Austin was higher on our priority list than having a newly built house so we are happy with our decision. Sam being laid off always turns out to be a positive thing for us even if at the time it doesn't seem so positive. Either way, we are grateful!

Sold our house!

March 1, 2013 we officially became "home-less". :). We rented 2 weeks back from the buyer and moved out March 15th.

We moved into a hotel with the pups and stayed there for about 6 weeks. Candlewood was so comfortable and everyone was so nice and accommodating. Jake and Mia made a fur friend there, Kiera. They also made a human friend who would always give them treats, SJ.

Sam then moved to Austin with the pups and is hotel living again until we can close on our new house. :). I'm living with Lucien and Kelsey, Leena and the pups while I finish up work in San Antonio.

It's the little things

I wanted to share this photo so that we can always remember the little things that make us laugh and make us so happy. We love our fur babes!

Keeping Warm

So it's 2013 and actually cold out. Jake and Mia like to keep warm. I use these photos because they all tell a story. The first picture, they steal my seat on he couch having their large very comfy bean bed on the ground. Second, that's just them snuggled up and I thought they were cute. :). Third, Mia keeping warm. Fourth, Mia heard something in the kitchen she wanted so she got up to check it out and brought her blanky with her. She realized it was nothing and said "I better lay right here on this warm blanky to keep an eye just in case" and so she plopped. Lol. Fourth, I got up to get something in the kitchen, Jake noticed and stole my seat again. I was gone for less than 15 seconds! Lol. They are too cute!
