So after trying accupuncture and cupping a few times, the situation with my back and muscles in my back did not change long term. It's crazy how God just has the prefect plans for us. I'll start with saying that I never would have moved to San Antonio if it wasn't to be with Sam because I was very happy in Austin. So Sam finds a job here, I move, and then a year or so later on February 13, 2010, the job he moved to SA for lays him off. Now, this to any other family would be a disaster but to us it was a blessing. It was a blessing because we were forced to change our eating habits. We went from eating out every day for lunch and at least 5 times a week for dinner to COOKING all of our foods; breakfast, snacks, lunch, and dinner. Ok, I am not domestic or culinary inclined so I had to learn things over night. :) This lay off coupled with Jake not wanting to eat kibble and only eat raw made me research where all of our commercial food comes from. As I've stated before, we went completely organic after learning horrifying information, and even with buying this more expensive food, we were able to save money by not eating out at all. So Sam finds a job working for Avanzar at the Toyota plant in South SA. This job was not good to him at all and never turned him into a permanent full time employee thus leading him to keep his options open and continuing his job search. One day, he received a call from TRANE! He had his initial interview over the phone then went in for more interviews and he was hired 09/10! YAY for Sam! Shortly after gaining this position, he had a health fair at work that he was in charge of. He signed us up (Me, him, Jake, and Mia) for the diabetes walk. Ok, I am NOT one for walks or runs for anything! Especially not after learning all that I have learned and knowing there IS a cure for cancer, diabetes, arthritis etc, I do not want or like to throw money at a cause just because people refuse to think and look outside the box for answers. So I go with it only to support Sam. All four of us arrive late for the walk but walk anyway (Oct. 2010). We are the last to finish; not because it was a long walk, but because, Mia and Jake, like children, get antsy so we had to stop and "correct" them a few times. :) At the end of the walk, they have a man standing with a scale weighing people with a sign that reads something to the effect of "having back problems?". I nearly run over there because I have a TON of back problems that stupid doctors don't want to get to the bottom of. So I get on the scale and my right side is heavier than my left side meaning it is compensating for something that's happening on my left side. Of course, this was no surprise to me but it was exciting to know I wasn't crazy! I make an appointment to get xrays done by Dr. Josh at Generation Chiropractic for $50.00. I feel this isn't bad at all considering how much pain I have been in for years and by this time, I'm spent trying everything else. I have had 2 different sets of xrays done in the years past with the most recent one having been done just a couple of months prior. They, of course, said my xrays were "normal". So I see Dr. Josh on Monday November 1, 2010 to take my xrays. I warn him and tell him that I've had 2 other sets done before with "nothing" being found. He tells me that the way he takes and reads xrays is very different from conventional doctors. OK. He calls me that same night to tell me that I have A LOT of damage in my back stemming from as far back as BIRTH!! WTH?! He says it is imperative that I come in to go over them and to get an adjustment. I come in the next day of course for my very first chiropractic adjustment. He goes over my xrays with me and Sam a couple of days later and I indeed can see exactly how bad the curves in my spine are. I am in the negatives! Negative 11 to be exact when I should be at a positive 45 in one area. I have completely lost all the normal and healthy curvatures in my back. I am appalled that no other doctor has every taken the time to take the correct xrays or look at them in the correct way! Instead, they wanted to pump me full of muscle relaxers. Just thinking and typing this makes me upset all over again. I could have had this fixed years ago when it first started, only no one listed to me! I'm glad I didn't give up. I sign up for my full recovery sessions that will go for almost a year. My insurance, of course, is not paying for any of it. Insurance sees sublixation in the central nervous system (a very real cause of all disease in this country) as not a real thing and therefore will not help with costs. SAD! They'd run out of money if it was covered as people would finally be getting to the root of lots of problems rather than just masking them with medication. My first real session begins on November 8, 2010. I will go getting adjustments 3 times a week until my next re-xray, so about 3 months. It will be decided after my next re-xray whether I will drop to 2 times a week or remain the same. This is so exciting for me! Finally I have answers! Finally I can do something about it with OUT masking my symptoms!
So again, God knows exactly what he is doing because had I not met Sam, I would not have moved to SA, had Sam not been layed off, he would not have found his current job that hooked him up with the Diabetes walk that then hooked me up with Dr. Josh, who is now helping me to HEAL!! Did I mention Dr. Josh is the only maximized living chiropractor in SA? This is why it was crucial for me to be here....so that I can finally heal! :)
